Is TRT Right for Me? What a Provider Evaluation Covers (Tucson)

Tucson men keep asking for a clinic that will talk honestly about costs, benefits, drawbacks, and alternatives before starting TRT. That conversation is the evaluation.

A lot of the men who reach out from Tucson are not asking for testosterone. They are asking for someone who will explain, without a sales pitch, whether it makes sense for them. That is exactly what a Provider Evaluation is for. Here is what it covers.

Costs, stated first

  • Free Provider Evaluation. A consult with a licensed provider — the $110 fee was removed. Not a prescription.
  • Labs, billed separately, ordered only if your provider needs them and priced before they are ordered.
  • If therapy is appropriate: one all-in monthly price that already includes ongoing provider care, monitoring and shipping. No membership fee, and your exact price is disclosed before you pay.

We do not bill insurance. You see every price before you pay it.

What the evaluation looks at

  1. Your symptoms and how long you have had them. Fatigue, low libido, lost strength, low mood, brain fog.
  2. Everything else that causes those symptoms. Sleep, thyroid, blood sugar, medications, alcohol, weight, and stress can all look like “low T.” A good evaluation rules these in or out rather than jumping to a prescription.
  3. Labs. Low testosterone is a lab diagnosis, usually morning levels and often repeated. Symptoms alone are not enough.
  4. Your goals and your constraints. Fertility plans matter. So does whether you want a therapy you will be on long term.

The benefits, honestly

For men with clearly low levels and consistent symptoms, provider-monitored testosterone therapy can be an appropriate treatment. What it does for any individual is not something a web page can promise, and we will not.

The drawbacks, honestly

  • It is ongoing care with monitoring labs, not a one-time fix.
  • It can affect fertility, which matters if you plan to have children.
  • Testosterone is a controlled medication. It is prescribed under state and federal rules, and current federal telehealth flexibilities that allow an audio-video evaluation without a prior in-person visit run through December 31, 2026.
  • There are medical reasons some men should not use it. Your provider will go through the ones that apply to you.

The alternatives

Sometimes the plan is sleep, a thyroid workup, addressing a medication side effect, or a metabolic program. Sometimes it is repeating labs in a few months. Our article on TRT versus peptides for energy and recovery covers how a provider thinks about the options.

For Tucson residents

BioPeakRx is licensed in Arizona and serves Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Vail, and Green Valley by telehealth. Labs are drawn at a local lab. Our provider practices in the West Valley; you do not need to drive to Goodyear.
