Symptom · Weight gain
The same habits, a different number on the scale.
Unexplained weight gain is a signal worth reading, not a character flaw. The evaluation looks at what changed — metabolism, hormones, sleep, medications — and then at what's appropriate.

What's often behind it
Metabolic change
Insulin resistance and prediabetes make weight easier to gain and harder to lose — and show up on simple labs.
Perimenopause and menopause
Hormonal shifts change where and how easily weight is stored, often around the middle.
Sleep and stress
Short sleep and chronic stress raise appetite and reshape where fat is stored.
Thyroid
An underactive thyroid slows metabolism; it's an inexpensive lab to rule out.
Medications
Some antidepressants, steroids, beta-blockers and diabetes medications cause weight gain as a side effect.
The evaluation
What your provider looks at first
A free visit with a licensed provider — history, what changed and when, sleep, medications — followed by labs only where they change the plan. If GLP-1 therapy is appropriate, the eligibility and safety screen happens here.
- ✓BMI and weight history, in context
- ✓A1c, fasting glucose and lipids where indicated
- ✓Thyroid where indicated
- ✓Sleep and stress
- ✓Medication review
- ✓Personal and family history that affects GLP-1 eligibility
What we may offer, when it's appropriate
Medication is prescribed only when a licensed provider determines it's clinically appropriate — and you see your exact all-in monthly price before you pay.
What we won't do
- —Prescribe a GLP-1 to someone who doesn't meet clinical criteria.
- —Hide the price or the renewal terms until after you've paid.
- —Pretend muscle loss on a GLP-1 isn't a thing — the plan includes protein and training.
Common questions
Who qualifies for GLP-1 therapy?+
It is generally considered for adults who meet clinical criteria for overweight or obesity — for example a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition — evaluated individually. A licensed provider decides based on your full picture, not a number alone.
What does it cost?+
The Provider Evaluation is free. If prescribed, semaglutide is one flat all-in monthly price and tirzepatide another — provider care, monitoring, messaging and shipping included, no membership fee, and the exact price and renewal terms shown before you pay.
Is compounded GLP-1 legal now?+
The FDA shortages for tirzepatide and semaglutide ended in 2024–2025, which ended mass 'copycat' compounding. Patient-specific compounding on an individual prescription remains lawful where a provider documents a clinical reason. Our plain-language guides explain the current rules.
