Symptom · Brain fog

Foggy, forgetful, slower than you used to be.

'Brain fog' isn't a diagnosis — it's what a dozen different things feel like from the inside. The job is to find which one, not to guess.

What's often behind it

Sleep

The single most common cause. Short or fragmented sleep degrades attention and memory before anything else does.

Perimenopause and menopause

Brain fog is one of the most reported symptoms of the hormonal transition — and one of the most dismissed.

B12, thyroid, vitamin D, iron

Deficiencies and thyroid changes present as slowed thinking; a few inexpensive labs rule them in or out.

Mood and stress

Depression and sustained stress impair concentration — and often travel with poor sleep.

Medications and alcohol

Sedating medications, some blood-pressure and allergy drugs, and alcohol all cloud cognition.

The evaluation

What your provider looks at first

A free visit with a licensed provider — timeline, sleep, cycle history for women, mood, medications — followed by labs only where they change the plan.

  • ✓Sleep quality and screening for sleep apnea
  • ✓Cycle and menopause history for women
  • ✓B12, thyroid, vitamin D and iron where indicated
  • ✓Mood and stress screen
  • ✓Medication and alcohol review
  • ✓Red flags that need a neurology referral rather than a prescription

What we may offer, when it's appropriate

Only after evaluation, and only when a provider determines it fits. Each option links to the evidence.

What we won't do

  • —Sell a 'focus' product before sleep and labs have been looked at.
  • —Treat brain fog without asking about your cycle, your sleep and your medications.
  • —Keep prescribing if the picture points to something a neurologist should see.

Common questions

Is brain fog a sign of something serious?+

Usually not — sleep, hormones, deficiencies, mood and medications explain most of it. But sudden onset, progressive memory loss, or fog with other neurological symptoms needs a proper workup, and a provider will tell you plainly if that's the direction.

I'm a woman in my 40s. Could this be hormones?+

Quite possibly. Brain fog is among the most common perimenopausal symptoms, and it often arrives with sleep disruption. The evaluation takes your cycle history seriously, rules out the look-alikes, and walks through options with the evidence rather than a sales pitch.

Will a peptide fix it?+

No single product 'fixes' brain fog, and we won't say otherwise. Where the evaluation points to a specific, treatable cause, your provider addresses that cause. Where a provider-evaluated therapy like sermorelin is reasonable, you'll get the honest trial data first.
